Review: Samsung Galaxy X

Galaxy X, o primeiro smartphone Google puro lançado aqui no Brasil, com um design refinado e uma potência que ainda hoje é considerada plausível. Veja como ele se saiu em diversos testes de câmera, benchmarks, bateria e muito mais!
Tive a chance de ficar com o Nexus, ops, Galaxy X por 15 dias, e não senti que era um aparelho do ano passado, apesar de realmente ser. Ainda dá para compará-lo ao S III e ao HTC One X.
O design do aparelho sempre me chamou a atenção em fotos e quando eu estive com ele. Alguns reclamam do acabamento por ser de plástico, mas achei bem resistente e fácil de se encaixar na mão.
A curva presente no Galaxy Nexus dá uma certa elegância ao aparelho, que veremos mais tarde nas fotos. Antes de tudo, vamos às especificações.
Especificações
- Tela de 4.65″ Super AMOLED em 1280x720px com uma densidade de pixels de 316. É linda, sério.
- Câmera de 5 megapixels que não me decepcionou com LED Flash e filma em 1080p, além de uma câmera frontal de 1.3 megapixels
- Processador dual-core de 1.2GHz que roda o ICS bem flúido, sem nenhum lag com 1GB de RAM
- Android (do Galaxy X) 4.0.2 ICS sem previsão de atualização para 4.0.4 e 4.1 (falarei sobre isso mais tarde)
- 16GB de memória interna, e não aceita microSD
- 8.9mm de espessura e pesa 135g
- Bateria de 1750mAh que dura até 8h de uso contínuo (ou menos, pelo menos no 4.o.2)
Câmera
O Galaxy X possui uma câmera de 5 megapixels com um LED Flash, que pareceu se sair muito bem com as fotos, além de ter uma velocidade absurda.
Nada foi medido com precisão, mas acredito que o X tire 1 ou 2 fotos por segundo, o que é muito rápido para um smartphone, apenas perdendo do Galaxy S III.
O que senti falta na câmera frontal de 1.3 megapixels foram os efeitos apresentados no Ice Cream Sandwich, mas que não iriam fazer diferença no meu dia-a-dia. Observem as fotos abaixos tiradas com a câmera traseira, com flash e sem flash. Clique nas imagens para ampliar.

Como vocês puderam ver, a câmera não é tão ruim para 5 megapixels, porém, se fosse de 8, seria imbatível. Não achei necessário, porque ela se mostrou muito balanceada e bonita. Tirem suas próprias conclusões!
Bateria
O Galaxy X possui uma bateria de 1750mAh, que, segundo a Samsung, tem uma duração de uso frequente de até 8 horas. Então nós testamos para ver se era isso mesmo.
Como vemos nas especificações o X está na 4.0.2, onde disseram que o consumo de bateria é realmente alto, coisa que não acontece na 4.0.4 ou usando um Kernel customizado.
Mas, é a versão que está no mercado, e como nem todos sabem trocar kernels ou passar ROM’s modificadas, resolvemos não mexer.
Consegui manter o smartphone ligado por 5 horas com uso do 3G, e aplicativos como Temple Run, Twitter, Chrome, e uso contínuo do Music. Até que ele aguentou bem, mas poderia ter sido melhor, coisa que a bateria estendida ou um kernel modificado resolve.
Claro que eu estava forçando o smartphone para ver no que ele era capaz, caso estivesse usando ele normalmente com WiFi ligado, 3G moderadamente, entre outras coisas, ele duraria 1 dia sabendo aproveitar corretamente. Veja nas imagens abaixo o uso detalhado da bateria.
Design do aparelho
E é aí que vem uma das minhas partes favoritas no Galaxy X, o design. Grande, curvado e elegante. Ao contrário do que muitos dizem, a tela grande não é um defeito do aparelho, e sim uma qualidade.
A tela de 4.65 polegadas, hoje, com o Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note, e muitos aparelhos grandes por aí não parece muita coisa, mas quando o aparelho foi lançado eu vi muitas reclamações, teremos mais detalhes sobre o aproveitamento da tela mais para frente.
Com 8.9mm de espessura, hoje em dia o X pode ser considerado um aparelho gordinho, mas o seu curvamento meio que deixa isso menos evidente, além de deixar o aparelho mais confortável de se segurar e mais fácil de se encaiar na mão.
Mas isso não me atrapalhou em nada, são só detalhes, imagina se os aparelhos fossem tão finos que a entrada para os fones de ouvido teria que ser puxada para fora. Ai ficaria feio.
Ouvi reclamações que o acabamento dele é ruim, principalmente a parte de trás, que é de plástico. Eu achei exatamente o contrário, a parte de trás é bem feita e bem elástica, e o aparelho em si tem um design meio fosco, o que o deixa elegante. Achei o Galaxy X muito resistente por sinal.
O aparelho não tem nenhum botão físico na parte da frente, com um botão de volume à esquerda e um botão power na parte da direita. Em cima, ainda bem que não temos nada, e em baixo, a saída usb/carregador e dos fones de ouvido. Eu sempre preferi o carregador em baixo, talvez porque a mobilidade do aparelho enquanto conectado seja maior, a mesma coisa para os fones de ouvido.
Na parte de trás temos a câmera (traseira, é claro) junto com o flash LED, bateria e entrada para cartão SIM normal. Lembrando que podemos substituir a carcaça por uma bateria estendida, que caíria muito bem. Veja mais fotos abaixo.
Tela e multimídia
A tela do aparelho realmente combinou com o design, como eu já disse antes acho o aparelho bem grande, mas tem um proveito legal do espaço frontal.
Com 1280×720 pixels de tela, temos que lembrar que na altura, quase 100 pixels são usados para os botões virtuais, que ocupam aproximadamente 8% da tela o tempo todo, por isso esses decimais a mais nas polegadas.
Com essa resolução em HD junto com o tamanho da tela deixam o Nexus com uma densidade de pixels de 316 ppi (pixel per inch), uma das maiores já vistas em um smartphone, o que deixam ele com uma tela extremamente bem definida, na imagem acima você pode ver os pixels bem de perto.
E parece que o Google sabe que a tela é linda, por isso resolveu mostrar isso na tela de boot, que, como você pode ver abaixo, abusa das cores, e isso na tela do Galaxy X, é lindo.
Os botões virtuais se caracterizam por estarem presentes o tempo todo, mas é claro que em certos aplicativos, é um incômodo vê-los, e essa é a hora deles se retirarem.
Na imagem acima você pode ver um vídeo em HD sendo executado no Aplicativo do YouTube com o aparelho deitado, e o vídeo em fullscreen, onde os botões não estão presentes.
Além de tudo isso, para multimídia, eu sempre reclamei de uma saída só de som. Ainda mais atrás. Você coloca o dispositivo na mesa, e boom. Som abafado. Não com o Galaxy X.
A saída mono até que se saiu bem, talvez pela pequena curvatura que tem antes dela, não deixando-a encostar na superfície e assim não abafando o som.
Interface
Como muitos já devem ter experimentado na CyanogenMOD 9, o ICS puro é lindo. Temos várias funcionalidades interessantes, e úteis no cotidiano. Abaixo você pode ver algumas delas. Abra as imagens em nova aba para ampliá-las.
A integração com músicas como vista na quinta e na primeira imagem mostra como o ICS se torna mais lindo se os aplicativos se adaptarem a ele.

Easter Egg do ICS
Uma coisa que não me agradou no ICS foi a inexistência de um painel de toggles, por isso um amigo me indicou o MoreQuicklyToggles, é um aplicativo que não precisa de root e adiciona uma barra toggle nas suas notificações, totalmente customizável. É muito útil.
Chegou a hora. Lembram lá no começo do review onde falei sobre o Android 4.0.2 presente no Galaxy X, versão brasileira do Galaxy Nexus? Então, mas por que ele não é atualizado para o 4.0.4, se é a última versão liberada em aberto pelo Google?
Para isso, preciso contar um segredo para vocês que vocês já deveriam saber. Existem várias versões do Nexus. Não só a Galaxy X, pela mudança de nome, mas em outros países existem Nexus customizados por operadoras, por exigências locais ou outras coisas.
Mas o que isso influencia na pureza do Galay X? É simples: Ao mudar de nome, ou alguma coisa na ROM, você altera o product name dela, mesmo que seja uma coisa só lá nos códigos, e isso faz que o dispositivo não seja oficialmente atualizado (via OTA) pelo Google.
A versão única e pura atualizada pelo Google é a yakju, a versão brasileira se chama yakjuvs, pela mudança de nome (Galaxy Nexus para Galaxy X), ou seja, ela não é oficialmente atualizada pelo Google. Obs: a informação acima é do aplicativo GNOfficialUpdate, que informa o product name do seu Nexus.
Até aí tudo bem, se não dependessemos da Samsung para termos a última versão do Android. E é aí que as coisas complicam, cadê o nosso 4.0.4, e futuramente o 4.1?
Eu mandei um e-mail para a Samsung perguntando sobre essas atualizações, e infelizmente ela não me respondeu. Mas nem tudo está perdido! Tem como alterar isso.
Se vocês seguirem esse tutorial do VidaMovelBlog, poderão tirar a ROM brasileira do Galaxy X e transformar ele em um Galaxy Nexus, assim, você receberá atualizações oficiais via OTA, sem problemas. Aliás, você perderá a garantia, mas pelo menos terá atualizações.
Benchmarks
Baixei os aplicativos na Play Store com uma esperança de obter ótimos resultados e… Bom, não foi aquela coisa. Mas mesmo assim, benchmarks não são tudo.
Mas não é tão ruim assim. A resolução é a culpada. O ICS roda super fluido nessa linda tela, mas na hora de fazer benchmarks, com essa resolução em HD tão alta, o benchmark terá mais pixels para renderizar, dando a impressão do que o aparelho é mais lento do que realmente é.
Lento não é uma coisa que eu gostaria de colocar nesse review, porque realmente, o Galaxy X me impressionou pela sua fluidez, e dizem que no Jelly Bean melhora. Olhem os benchmarks abaixo e tirem suas próprias conclusões.
Conclusão
Está claro que o Galaxy X ainda será um dispositivo bem forte no mercado, não pelo seu hardware, mas por ele ser mimado pelo Google. Atualizações, compatibilidades e tudo mais.
Como eu não exigo muito da câmera de um smartphone, se tira foto rápido e fica legal com um filtro no Instagram eu já fico feliz, não senti diferença da câmera ser de 5 megapixels. Mas a bateria me decepcionou.
Não é aquela coisa que podemos esperar da bateria de um smartphone, mas bem que ela podia durar um pouco mais, né? Nada que uma bateria estendida não resolva.
Mas e então, o Galaxy X vale a pena? Vale tanto a pena que devolvi o aparelho para a Samsung e fui comprar um. Sério mesmo. Não é por nada, mas eu quero garantir as minhas atualizações por um bom tempo, e não sinto essa confiança nem com o S III. Fora que, na minha opinião, não acho que o S III irá ter mais atualizações que o Nexus, pelo contrário.
A minha recomendação é: compra o Galaxy Nexus (ou X), que está em torno de R$1200 e passe a yakju nele, não tem erro, e você não terá mais problemas.
Uma coisa que me incomodou no aparelho foi a falta de acessórios vendidos no Brasil, segundo a loja oficial da Samsung aqui, irá ter em breve, mas eu prefiro optar pelo MercadoLivre. Tem também alguns na MegaFormiga, se alguem se interessar.

Muito bom esse Galaxy X(Nexus) mais prefiri comprar um RAZR pelo design e pela camera melhor com 8MP fora a resistencia a agua e feito de metal e kevlar,não de plastico como o Galaxy X ou SIII

E o som dele é bom? Vejo muitas pessoas dizendo que o som dele é muito baixo é verdade?
Eu achei muito bom, consegui escutar sem problemas em um lugar grande, porém fechado, sem barulho. Como eu disse, o som não abafa quando você coloca o aparelho na mesa, realmente ajuda muito.

Jean, tenho um galaxy X e pretendo fazer a modificação passo a passo para ter as atualizações do Google. Tirar a ROM brasileira do Galaxy X e transformar ele em um Galaxy Nexus. Pergunto, apos essa atualização para Galaxy Nexus , a linguagem do aparelho passa a ser inglês ou continuo tendo a opção do português?

Como o Emerson disse, o Nexus é muito bom. Se mostrou um ótimo aparelho, como eu disse no review. É uma boa, mas mesmo assim tem que ver as suas necessidades em um smartphone e escolher o certo.

Eu consegui ele por R$1.200 no MercadoLivre, com o frete. Vale a pena. Em planos em operadoras ele deve sair menos que R$1.000

Olá, o Galaxy S II, por ser o sucessor do aparelho, e consecutivamente, sendo melhor e mais completo. A tela é maior, é mais fino, a tela é melhor, ele já vem com o Gingerbread e pode ser atualizado para o Ice Cream Sandwich, ao contrário do Galaxy S II.

Olá Jean, estou a procura de um smartphone e me interessei pelo Galaxy Nexus, li em alguns reviews que a bateria dele não é das melhores. Você acha uma boa idéia comprar a bateria extendida? Porque ela vem com uma tampa da bateria junto? Por acaso ela é mais larga do que a bateria original?
Estou entre o Galaxy Nexus e o SII Lite. Qual você acha que tem melhor custo x benefício?

Oi Társis, sai bem mais em conta a bateria extendida, ela vem sim com uma case, e dura mais do que a original. Aí dá para você ir alternando entre as duas e ter uma maior duração durante o dia. Vai de Galaxy Nexus com certeza, mas eu já aviso que a bateria dele não é das melhores, talvez seja para um uso moderado, mas como estou sempre usando o aparelho, optei por duas baterias.
