A Adobe veio a público falar sobre o Flash no sistema Android, e temos más (ou boas, depende da opinião da pessoa) notícias: a empresa decidiu parar o suporte do Flash Player para Androids futuros, além de anunciar que o Flash Player não poderá mais ser baixado pelo Google Play a partir do dia 15 de agosto.

Quem já tiver o Flash Player instalado no seu aparelho vai continuar com o app instalado e receberá atualizações da Adobe normalmente, mas novos aparelhos que não tiverem o Flash Player instalado já não vão poder instalá-los pelo Google Play a partir do dia 15 de agosto.

“Beginning August 15th we will use the configuration settings in the Google Play Store to limit continued access to Flash Player updates to only those devices that have Flash Player already installed. Devices that do not have Flash Player already installed are increasingly likely to be incompatible with Flash Player and will no longer be able to install it from the Google Play Store after August 15th.

The easiest way to ensure ongoing access to Flash Player on Android 4.0 or earlier devices is to use certified devices and ensure that the Flash Player is either pre-installed by the manufacturer or installed from Google Play Store before August 15th. If a device is upgraded from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1, the current version of Flash Player may exhibit unpredictable behavior, as it is not certified for use with Android 4.1. Future updates to Flash Player will not work. We recommend uninstalling Flash Player on devices which have been upgraded to Android 4.1.”

O fim do Flash no Android é mais um passo na nova estratégia que a Adobe apresentou no fim de 2011, quando ela recomendou que os desenvolvedores focassem mais no desenvolvimento do HTML5. O último dispositivo móvel que ainda terá o Flash será o Internet Explorer 10, do Windows 8 RT.

Agora, o jeito é acompanhar a lenta morte do Flash, e sua substituição pelo HTML5, que gasta menos recursos do aparelho e é mais rápido, por isso acabou emplacando e tirando o Flash da jogada. Você, leitor, ainda prefere o Flash ao HTML5 ou aguarda para que o Flash seja totalmente substituído?
